MA in Theology, Ministry and Mission

An inspiring and informative three years of part-time study covering subjects including Biblical Studies, Doctrine, Christian Faith and the Environment, Hermeneutics, Research and Reflection, as well as the opportunity to choose your own research topics for Independent Learning Projects and a Final Dissertation.  Our manageable and affordable MA course is validated by Durham University through the Common Awards scheme.  The MA runs part-time a cross. three academic years (60 credits per year).

Pre-course Requirements

Normally an Upper Second-Class Honours degree or equivalent in a subject relevant to the proposed course of study. Normally students will need a good degree (or other Level 6 qualification, such as a Graduate Diploma) in Theology. Graduates (classed as first-class or 2:1 Honours) in other disciplines with experience of Theology or Religious Studies to at least FHEQ Level 4 (undergraduate Certificate level, awarded with credit or distinction, or with an overall mark of at least 60%) may also be admitted to the programme.  

However, especially for mature students, prior professional experience will be taken into account as well as educational qualifications.

Duration, Fees and Application

Duration & Attendance: The MA runs across 3 academic years (60 credits per year). This is a part-time programme. Each year consists of six Saturdays of in-person teaching at Plymouth Marjon University plus one on ZoomTM online learning and research.

Fees: The Fee for Year 1 of MA 2024-25 is £2,500 for the year (£100 registration  fee followed by three instalments of £800 due on 1st October 2024, 1st January 2025 and 1st April 2025).

Fees for future years may be subject to inflation but are likely to be similar to Year 1.
