Resources for Students

Resources for Students

SWMTC strongly emphasises provision of support to students. We strive to be a community with a vibrant corporate life. Our feedback often notes that “SWMTC has a strong sense of family. Together, students, staff, families and friends of the course build strong communal bonds.”

Virtual Learning

SWMTC maintains a virtual learning resource for teaching and learning on Moodle. This provides access to:

  • The Student Academic Handbook, including regulations governing study for credit
  • General advice to students
  • Module-specific material including descriptors, module documents, handouts, presentations, and reading material
  • Audio recordings of the evening classes at Exeter and Truro

Libraries

SWMTC Library, Exeter

The SWMTC Library is a dedicated lending library of around 9,000 theological books located within our offices at Riverside, Exeter. The Library collaborates with Bishop Phillpotts Library in Truro, and a joint catalogue is published on-line and regularly updated.

Membership is open to anyone on payment of subscription. In the 2018-19 academic year the fee is £20. This grants borrowing rights and a limited postal service. Readers in training in the Exeter Diocese, Ordinands and non-ministerial students registered through SWMTC for credit with Durham Common Awards are members of the Library without further subscription.
